Description
193-ECPM2 Allen-Bradley Controller module
Product Dimensions:
Product Description
The 193-ECPM2 is designed to sit directly in the power circuit of a motor. Unlike basic sensing modules that only measure amperage, the “PM” (Power Monitor) series includes voltage sensors. This allows the E300 system to calculate real-time power metrics such as kilowatts (kW), power factor, and energy consumption (kWh). It connects mechanically and electrically to a Control Module (like the 193-EC1ZZ) to form a complete intelligent protective device.

| Protection Rating | IP20 (Finger-safe terminals) |
Product Advantages
-
Comprehensive Protection: Beyond standard overload protection, it detects voltage-based issues such as phase loss, phase imbalance, under-voltage, and over-voltage.
-
Energy Management: By providing real-time power data, it allows facilities to track energy usage per motor, helping to identify inefficient equipment and reduce utility costs.
-
Reduced Footprint: Combines the functions of a current transformer (CT), potential transformer (PT), and an energy meter into one compact module, saving significant space in the control cabinet.
-
Simplified Integration: Through the E300 communication module, all voltage and power data is transmitted over a single EtherNet/IP cable, eliminating the need for separate power transducers.
Important Considerations
-
Voltage Connections: Unlike current-only modules, the 193-ECPM2 requires voltage reference wiring. Ensure these wires are correctly fused according to local electrical codes (NEC/IEC).
-
Phase Orientation: Proper phase sequence (L1, L2, L3) is critical. If the voltage leads are swapped, power calculations (such as Power Factor) will be incorrect, even if the motor runs correctly.
-
Current Scaling: Ensure the motor’s Full Load Amps (FLA) falls within the 0.5A to 30A range of this specific module. For motors exceeding 30A, external current transformers must be used.
-
Firmware Synchronization: The module must be recognized by the attached Control Module. Ensure the E300 system firmware is updated to support the ECPM series features.
