The 2090-SCEP0-1 is a Plastic Fiber Optic (PFO) cable designed for high-speed, deterministic communication between servo drives and motion controllers. Because it uses light instead of electrical signals, it is the industry standard for eliminating data corruption in electrically “noisy” environments (near high-voltage motor cables and VFDs).

Important Precautions

• Handling the Fiber: Never touch the ends of the fiber optic connectors. Skin oils can smudge the surface, significantly increasing signal attenuation (loss).

• Strict Bend Radius: Do not “kink” the cable. A 0.1m cable is very short; ensure the drives are aligned perfectly to avoid stressing the fiber at the connector entry point.

• End-of-Life Notice: As of December 31, 2025, this product has been officially discontinued by Rockwell Automation. It is now primarily available as a spare part through surplus or authorized repair channels.

• Dust Caps: Keep the protective dust caps on the cable and the drive ports until the exact moment of installation.
