The 2090-SCEP3-0 is a Plastic Fiber Optic (PFO) cable designed to facilitate deterministic, high-speed communication in motion control networks. Unlike the short “jumper” versions (0.1m or 0.2m), the 3.0-meter length provides the flexibility needed to connect hardware across different sections of an electrical cabinet or between adjacent enclosures. It features a rugged, industrial-grade jacket to protect the delicate fiber core.

Important Precautions

• Avoid Kinking: While the 3.0m cable is longer and easier to route, you must never allow it to fold or kink. A sharp bend will fracture the plastic fiber, requiring a full cable replacement.

• Signal Loss (Attenuation): Ensure the cable is not pinched by cabinet doors or zip-ties. Excessive pressure on the jacket can change the refractive index of the fiber and cause “Ring 1” or “Ring 2” communication faults.

• Dust Management: Industrial environments are dusty. Always clean the fiber tips and the drive’s optical ports with lint-free wipes and isopropyl alcohol if the connection is ever opened.

• Lifecycle Alert: Note that the Kinetix 6000/SERCOS ecosystem was officially discontinued on December 31, 2025. This cable is now considered a “Legacy/Maintenance” item.
