• ITP Connectors: This module uses ITP (Industrial Twisted Pair) connectors, which are different from standard RJ45 connectors. You may need specific Siemens ITP cables or adapters to connect standard Ethernet devices.

• Fiber Type: Ensure you are using 62.5/125 $\mu$m or 50/125 $\mu$m multi-mode glass fiber. Single-mode fiber is not compatible with the BFOC ports on this unit.

• Redundancy Manager: In a ring topology, one (and only one) switch in the ring must be configured as the Redundancy Manager via the DIP switches or software.

Network Configuration Tip

When setting up a redundant ring:

1. Connect the fiber ports of Switch A to Switch B, B to C, and C back to A.

2. Set the DIP switch for “RM” (Redundancy Manager) to ON on only one switch.

3. Ensure all other switches have “RM” set to OFF.
