Key Product Advantages
-
Dual Power Supply: One of the standout features of the 774400 is its ability to be powered by either 24 V DC or 230 V AC, making it highly versatile for different international power standards.
-
High Switching Capacity: With an 8 A rating, it can directly control larger contactors without the need for intermediate relays.
-
Redundant Internal Logic: Uses two internal relays to ensure that even if one contact welds, the safety function is maintained (monitored via the feedback loop).
-
Feedback Loop: Features an S33/S34 loop for monitoring external contactors, ensuring the system cannot restart if external power components are damaged.
-
Durability: The electromechanical design is highly resistant to voltage spikes and electrical noise compared to purely electronic units.
Product Applications
The PNOZ X3 is a “workhorse” found in almost every industrial sector:
-
Emergency Stop Monitoring: The primary choice for E-stop buttons on standalone machines.
-
Safety Gate Monitoring: Interfacing with mechanical or magnetic safety switches on machine guards.
-
Light Curtains: Managing the safety outputs of Type 4 light curtains.
-
Woodworking and Metalworking: Ideal for high-vibration environments like saws, lathes, and milling machines.
-
Food and Beverage: Used in bottling and packaging lines where high reliability is required 24/7.
Important Usage Notes (Precautions)
-
Voltage Selection: Although the unit supports both 24V and 230V, you must never apply both simultaneously. Use either the A1/A2 terminals for AC or the B1/B2 terminals for DC.
-
Short-Circuit Monitoring: To detect shorts across the input cables (cross-circuit monitoring), you must use the 2-channel wiring configuration with S11/S12 and S21/S22.
-
Reset Configuration: * For Manual Reset: A button must be connected between S33 and S34.
-
For Automatic Reset: A jumper wire must be placed between S13 and S14.
-
-
Auxiliary Contact: The N/C contact (31-32) is for signaling/status only (e.g., to a PLC input) and must never be used in the safety circuit.
