The BK3520 acts as the head module for a modular I/O station. It serves as the interface between the ControlNet fieldbus and the electronic terminal blocks (Bus Terminals). One BK3520 can support up to 64 Bus Terminals, providing a highly flexible and scalable solution for distributed automation.

Precautions & Installation

Note: The BK3520 requires a KL9010 Bus End Terminal at the end of the terminal stack to function correctly.

1. Address Setting: Use the two rotary switches on the front of the coupler to set the ControlNet node address (MAC ID) before powering up.

2. Power Distribution: The coupler has two sets of 24V contacts. One powers the internal electronics (K-bus), and the other (Power Contacts) feeds the I/O terminals. Ensure both are correctly wired.

3. Media Connection: Use high-quality RG-6 coaxial cables and BNC connectors for the ControlNet connection to prevent signal attenuation.

4. Heat Dissipation: When mounting vertically, ensure there is sufficient clearance (at least 30mm) above and below the unit for natural convection cooling.
