The cRIO-9063 (National Instruments) is an embedded, industrial-grade CompactRIO Controller designed for high-performance control and monitoring. It is a cost-effective yet powerful “System on Module” (SOM) that combines a real-time processor with a reconfigurable FPGA.

Important Usage Notes (Precautions)

Grounding: Ensure the chassis is properly grounded using the grounding screw to prevent electromagnetic interference (EMI) and protect the internal FPGA.

Thermal Management: While rated for 55 °C, ensure adequate airflow around the cooling fins. If mounted in a small enclosure, the internal temperature can rise quickly.

Module Compatibility: This controller is compatible only with C Series modules. Ensure the power budget of your selected modules does not exceed the controller’s supply capability.

Software Version: Check the “NI-RIO” driver version compatibility. Newer versions of LabVIEW may require specific firmware updates for the 9063 to be recognized in the project explorer.
Deployment Workflow
