The F2-08TRS provides 8 independent, normally open (Form A) relay outputs. Unlike standard relay modules that share a common return, the “S” in the part number stands for Isolated, meaning each of the 8 points has its own isolated common. This allows the user to switch different voltages (e.g., 24V DC, 110V AC, and 220V AC) within the same module without electrical interference between channels.

Precautions for Use

  • Mechanical Life: Because these are mechanical relays, they have a finite lifespan. Avoid using them for high-speed “pulsing” applications like PWM (Pulse Width Modulation).

  • Fusing: This module does not have internal fuses. It is highly recommended to install external fuses for each output to prevent damage to the module in the event of a short circuit.

  • Hot-Swapping: Do not remove or insert the module into the PLC base while power is applied to the backplane or the field side.
