The HMIG5U2 serves as the “brain” or processing unit of a modular HMI system. It is designed to be clipped onto the back of a Harmony GTU Display Module (ranging from 7 to 19 inches). Because it runs Windows Embedded Standard 7, it provides the flexibility of a PC—supporting web browsers, PDF viewers, and third-party Windows software—while maintaining the ruggedness of an industrial HMI.

• Software Updates: Since it runs Windows 7, ensure that any installed third-party software or drivers are compatible with the “Embedded” version of the OS.

• Power Stability: Use a stabilized 24V DC power supply; sudden voltage drops can cause the OS to shut down unexpectedly, potentially leading to data loss.
