Important Considerations (Precautions)

• Single Monitor Rule: Only one insulation monitoring device may be connected to a conductively connected IT system. Connecting multiple monitors will cause them to interfere with each other and fail to detect faults.

• Voltage Isolation: During high-voltage insulation tests of the entire system (e.g., using a Megger), the IR425 must be disconnected from the system to prevent damage to its internal electronics.

• Grounding (E & KE): The connections to Earth (E) and Functional Earth (KE) must be led separately to ensure the device can monitor the integrity of its own ground connection.

• Capacitance Limits: Ensure the system leakage capacitance does not exceed $20 \mu$F, as higher values may affect the measuring accuracy or response time.
