The KJ1501X1-BB1 acts as the primary power interface for a DeltaV controller and I/O node. It converts bulk 24V DC input into a regulated 12.25V DC output that flows through the backplane (carrier) to energize the internal logic of the controllers and I/O modules. The “BB” series is a standard reliability power supply that forms the backbone of many legacy and mid-generation M-series installations.

2. Input Polarity: Ensure the 24V DC input wiring to the carrier is correctly polarized; reversed polarity can blow internal non-replaceable fuses.

3. LocalBus Load: Do not exceed the 13 Amp limit of the LocalBus. While one power supply can handle many modules, high-density I/O configurations should be calculated during design.

4. Hot-Swap Safety: In hazardous environments (Class I Div 2), always ensure the area is non-explosive before “hot-swapping” the module, as small arcs may occur during insertion.
